Tama Reserve Hand Hammered Brass Snare 14'' x 5.5'', Star Series

The hand-hammered STAR Reserve brass snare drum features a 1.5 mm thick shell, 2.3 mm custom brass mighty hoops and a unique batter pattern. With a depth of 5.5 inches, the natural tone of the brass shell is emphasized and a clear, high-quality sound is produced thanks to the unique hammering technique of experienced Japanese metalworkers. Carefully hammered by hand with a smaller diameter hammer at the edges of the drum and a larger
diameter hammer in the center, the drum takes on a barrel-like shape. The result is an excellently balanced and resonant sound that machine hammering cannot reproduce. In addition, the Customized Brass Mighty Hoops have a slightly shaved edge that produces a sharp and bright attack. When the remarkable hand-hammered shell and Customized Flanged Hoops are combined, a bold and vibrant tone is achieved with an unmistakably clear attack.
